In Loving Memory of Minister Antonio Rogers

ABOUT A SPIRIT OF EXCELLENCE
We endeavor to leave a lasting tribute to our beloved Antonio who tried to give back and reach back to help others along the way. Having to fight so hard to overcome many obstacles to find his niche and to find a measure of self-worth, he wanted to let others know you can do what you set your mind to do if you try! Having been mislabeled a “troublemaker” in his early teens, because of bullying and learning disorders, being hyper-active, which now we know as ADHD (and there are so many other we’re finding out), then he found his music. He was born playing drum and playing at the tender age 4 years old. With the kitchen pot and pans, lamp shades, and his wooden branches that he had made drumsticks out of, he assembled his drums and would be playing (or beating) for hours. Antonio attended Union Public School where he was on the Yellow Jacket basketball team that was up to going for the State Championship in 1992 if it was not for a lost to the Philadelphia Boys Team. He loved sports, but especially basketball. In the meantime, Antonio was chosen to be drummer for the Dawn of Faith quartet group of Union, MS under the leadership of the late Alderman and Deacon of Spring Hill Baptist Church, Bro. George Charles Boler. Thus began his musical journey! He went from drummer to bass guitar, to lead guitar, to keyboard player!! Antonio loved his music and he loved to sing. Also, his audiences loved to hear him sing!! He worked with other musicians in choirs and groups tireless for many years, as well as singing with the quartet group. Even writing and rearranging songs that he wrote, and some was recorded.
After working at numerous jobs down through the years, he discovered the car-detailing business, and he was sold on entrepreneurship! To make ends meet sometimes when business was slow, he would take on odd jobs or maintenance work, but he always would come back to his detailing business.
This is the care Antonio developed over time, the care for the details. He did his work not only in detailing cars, but his music and song; the ministry that God called him to, and to people in general, he wanted to make sure he did his best! He wanted to be sure to get it right, to do with an excellent spirit! Antonio went out of his way and beyond to do whatever he put his hands and gifts to do, to the best of his ability.
Antonio remembered the earlier in school, struggling to fit in, trying to do school and work while trying to his disadvantage of being ADHD and not knowing how to cope. For that reason he wanted to be able to help and give back to young folk who was struggling and trying to fit in. He wanted to offer them a better way or avenue to being independent and to have a sense of worth by counseling and offering jobs helping at the detail shop. So it is our endeavor to continue that same spirit to help others find a rewarding and sustaining way of life.

On-going teaching of basic computer skills, ensuring people are able to do basic things like job applications, online bill pay, resumes, etc. This is so important as most business is now conducted online and many people don't have the computer literacy to navigate through to complete essential tasks. This program will also assist people who do not have access to computers.
